Abstract
Well data is the only source of material evidence for the existence of a fractured carbonates reservoir to date. A new Approach/ Technique that allows us to very precisely infer the following from a 3D Seismic Volume: A: Highest Fracture Zones, B: fractures Trend and rocks Properties C: Elastic properties.
After confirming the Economic Reserves, combining A&B with the current well data provides confirmation of the effectiveness of our New Approach. Thorough investigation of the chosen fields' precautions is required. OUR NEW APPROACH HAS TO do the following : Analysis has to be done on the proper Domain (C.D.P Gather not on the processed volume) for a wide Azimuth 3d seismic, rum on Noise Free Volume ,Dialectic to be run on a Properly chosen area , Compartment the Area under Study according to Structure maps, run proper Fault seal studies, Well revised Structure map has to be Studied and get all necessary information from the reservoir (Thickness, depth, Kitchen, Cap Rocks, Stratigraphy, and petrophysical information from LOGS. The main methodology was summarized in recognizing fractures, both open and closed, establish the fluid fill and determine the residual economic reserves using different techniques.
Fractures result in SIGNIFICANT MEASURABLE DIFFERENCES in the seismic amplitudes of p waves and S waves, which denotes discernible variations in their VELOCITIES. According to above, F1 velocity is more susceptible to HIGH Angle while F1 amplitude is more vulnerable to LOW Angle Fracture. Fracture Since the OFFSET TILE DATA preserves the C.D.P Gather's azimuth information. We can determine the density and fracture orientation.
Currently Seismic SW Special 3D seismic processing can provide advice by treating a gathering to remove noise and high-frequency o/p to enhance the highest fracture zones and fracture directions are located where?
