Abstract |
Benzothiazoles are one of the most significant heterocyclic scaffold that play a critical role as a fundamental structure in a wide variety of natural compounds and medicines. With their various pharmacological properties, derivatives of benzothiazoles exhibit impressive structural diversity, making them valuable for creating new bioactive substances. Our research team has recently developed an innovative approaches to designing and creating a unique category of benzothiazoles containing pyridine, pyrimidine, or thiophene rings that combine various groups such as sulfonamide or sugar moieties-essential groups with significant pharmacological importance.. These compounds have been successfully synthesized in high yields using simple and direct methods. Additionally, the structural elucidation of these compounds has been validated through X-ray crystallography analysis. Of noteworthy importance, these newfound hybrids exhibit a spectrum of potent biological activities, including antiviral, antimicrobial, and anticancer effects. Within this discourse, we explore the synthesis techniques that create these benzothiazole hybrids, shedding light on their significant role as potent agents in viral, microbial, and cancerous infections. This innovative approach not only adds to the arsenal of bioactive compounds, but it also highlights the potential of benzothiazole hybrids as multifaceted therapeutic agents. |
